Make your own Bath Melts
Next time you take a bath plop a Bath Melt into the water then lie back and relax as it releases its gorgeous fragrance, essential oils and vegetable butters. Your skin will feel nourished, soft, and silky smooth. Bath Melts also make wonderful presents when wrapped in tissue and placed in a beautiful box tied with pretty ribbon.
YOU WILL NEED
100g (3½oz) cocoa butter
50g (1¾oz) shea butter
50ml (2fl oz) almond oil
1tsp lavender or rose essential oil
Small paper cases for moulds
- Put the cocoa butter in a plastic jug and microwave on a high setting for about 20 seconds until melted.
- Add the shea butter and microwave again until that has melted too.
- Stir in the almond oil and lavender essential oil then allow to cool for a few minutes.
- Arrange the paper cases on a tray. Spoon the mixture into the cases and leave it to become cloudy and cool (about 10 minutes).
Once the Melts have gone cloudy, insert a small rosebud into the centre of each one. Set them aside for 24 hours and the Melts are then ready to use in the bath.
