How does Medicleanse Nasal RInse work?

Nasal rinses work by flushing out mucus and clearing the nasal passages.

Sodium ions in the solution cleanse whilst bicarbonate reduces the viscosity of the mucus, so it can be cleared from the nasal passages with minimal damage to the blood vessels and nasal membranes.

Xylitol within the formula creates a barrier over the nasal membranes. This prevents the build up of those allergens and pollutants that cause irritation and excessive production of mucus.

Research into Allergic Rhinitis

In a controlled randomised trial in 2014, Nguyen et al (3) treated 40 patients with an isotonic nasal solution applied twice daily over a period of 8 weeks. Sinus pressure was monitored along with the level of daily discomfort. The trial revealed significant improvement in nasal congestion and associated symptoms in 36 of the 40 patients treated. (P<0.001).

Directions for use

• Dissolve 1 sachet in 240 ml of pre-boiled, tepid water
• Insert nozzle into one nostril over a washbasin
• Squeeze gently until the solution comes out of the opposite nostril
• Repeat in alternate nostrils until solution is used up
• Use twice daily until symptoms improve
• After use, clean bottle with hot, soapy water and rinse thoroughly
• Replace bottle every 3 months

Tester's Comment: I've tried a number of different nasal rinse systems. This one is simple and comfortable to use. Not flashy, just does the job. It definitely helps reduce inflammation and irritation in my nose and sinuses.
