Measure Blood Oxygen Levels at Home
- measures blood oxygen level
- measures pulse rate
- medically certified
If you have asthma or a respiratory condition it's likely that your doctor or asthma nurse has tested your Oxygen Saturation level with one of these Fingertip Pulse Oximeters.
Oxygen saturation (SpO2) refers to the amount of oxygen-saturated haemoglobin in the blood. It is an important measure for assessing respiratory function. A low oxygen saturation value often indicates underlying illnesses (asthma, respiratory diseases, cardiac insufficiency, heart failure etc.)
Normal blood oxygen saturation levels in healthy individuals at sea level are between 96% and 99% and should be above 94%. At 1600 meters altitude (about one mile high) oxygen saturation should be above 92%. If the level is below 92%, it is considered low.
Everyone’s oxygen saturation fluctuates, especially when changing activities throughout the day. To discover your normal oxygen range, simply check your oxygen saturation 4 times a day for 5 days using the Fingertip Pulse Oximeter. It will check your blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and heart rate (pulse) and give a reading of both within seconds. Record each measurement and be sure to also record what you were doing prior to checking.
Small, simple to use and reliable, the Fingertip Pulse Oximeter can give you an early warning if your oxygen levels or pulse rate fall to a dangerous level and help you decide whether a visit to hospital is required. Just pop onto your finger, press the button and the results are shown on the screen. It is the perfect self-monitoring tool to help you manage and control your asthma or respiratory condition.
As used by health professionals and paramedics around the world to monitor Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases (COPD) including Emphysema, Asthma and Bronchitis and Sleep Apnoea.
