From time to time however there is a product that we need to offer you that we cannot get from the market. In these cases we have the product made for us and we sell it under our own name. At the moment there are four important product lines that we sell that are manufactured specifically for us.
White cotton gloves are one of the most versatile weapons in helping you manage your eczema. Firstly and most obviously wearing gloves for activities such as arts and crafts, playing with pets and general messing about protects the skin giving damaged areas a chance to heal or acting as a barrier against irritants.. This is particularly beneficial for children with eczema and allows them to join in the fun with their friends.
Worn as under-gloves they can also add an extra layer of protection for tasks such as DIY and manual work.
At night white cotton gloves are the perfect way to protect both hands and bedding after applying creams.
Why white cotton? White cotton gloves have no chemicals or dyes so there is nothing in them to leach into the skin and cause further problems. In the case of children it is also a handy way of seeing just how dirty they have got their hands.
We decided to have our own gloves made for our customers as many of the designs aavailable were not up to the needs of eczema sufferers. The fingers of our gloves are not tubed but "fourchetted", which means thay have a box construction round each finger for superb comfort. We had the gloves made with longer cuffs to cover and protect sore wrists and a flat hem for comfort. Finally our white cotton gloves have great real world performance. They can be machine washed at 60ºC to remove stains from emollients and at up to 90ºC to completely sterilise them. Re-shape and dry flat or tumble dry on the cool setting.
The Sea-Med Range of Seaweed Skincare Products for Eczema
Sea-Med is our range of natural, soothing skincare products for eczema, psoriasis, acne, severely dry skin or an itchy scalp and sensitive skin. The treatments contain a range of nutrients found naturally in a strain of brown seaweed, harvested off the Hebridean coast. These include iodine, magnesium, chromium, copper, iron, potassium, calcium, zinc, vitamins A, B2, C, D and E, together with fucoidan.
There are three products in the Sea-Med range which can be used to treat skin conditions. They can be used separately or in combination with one another. The three products that comprise the range are Sea-Med Skin Therapy, Sea-Med Soap and Sea-Med Balm.
Sea-Med Skin Therapy
For those affected by eczema, psoriasis and acne that needs extra help, the healing properties of Sea-Med™ Therapy provide intensive treatment to ease itching and restore smooth, resilient skin. Safe for adults, children and babies over 4 weeks, this finely milled seaweed can be sprinkled into the bath or used as a paste for localised treatments. Full instructions are provided for a range of skin conditions.
Sea-Med™ Soap can be used in the bath or shower and is excellent as a shampoo or shaving soap. Washing your hair with Sea-Med soap results not only in a less itchy scalp but also hair that looks thicker. It is unfragranced and, like its sister products, completely natural and free of palm oil, SLS and parabens.
Sea-Med Rescue Balm
Sea-Med™ Rescue Balm is a waxy ‘butter’ that melts with the warmth of your skin to help heal and repair the skin barrier. Slightly fragranced with essential oil of lavender, only a little is needed to help restore strength and flexibility to sore, cracked or parched skin.
