Driver's Dilemma

18 Oct 2014

Morning All,

Just had an e-mail from a customer who’ s allergic to his steering wheel! What? Actually this is not as far-fetched as it seems. What he’s experiencing is irritant contact dermatitis triggered by the chemicals in the plastics used in the steering wheel that set off an itchy rash on the palms and fingers.

So what’s the answer?

There are 2 options here

Option 1 – Keep a pair of cotton gloves in the glove compartment. Yes, finally, that little cupboard in the car gets used for its original purpose. Chuck out the old CDs, the travel sweets that have long since fused together in the bottom of the tin and all the other detritus in that little depository and have a pair of comfortable cotton gloves in there waiting to be worn each time you set off for a drive.

You could of course go the whole hog and buy a pair of proper driving gloves, those leather ones with the holes over the knuckles and complicated straps and buckles but hey, cotton is cheaper, cooler and you won’t look like someone in a knitting pattern from the 60’s.

Option 2 – Keep a 60ml Gloves in a Bottle shielding lotion in said glove compartment. Just a pea-sized drop of this magic lotion will bond with the top layer of your skin and form an invisible shield against whatever it is that irritates your skin. Gloves in a Bottle is not greasy, dries in 30 seconds and doesn’t wash off. Your hands will be protected for four hours and they’ll feel like satin.

Result!
