" Buteyko breathing technique may be considered to help patients to control the symptoms of asthma" extract from the British Guideline on the Management of Asthma, May 2008.
You may have had breathing problems for a long time, but you can successfully learn to relieve and control your symptoms in simple, easy to learn steps with the renowned Buteyko Breathing Method. After only a few weeks you can experience the wonderful feeling of being in control of your asthma, rather than letting your asthma control you.
The secret lies in an astonishing approach developed in Russia in the 1950s.
Based on scientific evidence that asthmatics tend to 'overbreathe', this
extraordinary therapy teaches how to avoid the tendency to hyperventilate, both
in general and especially at the start of an attack.
Unorthodox in its
approach, yet amazing in its simplicity, this strategy for relieving asthma
symptoms has already transformed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people
around the world.
Five published clinical trials* show that this approach to managing asthma symptoms leads to a reduction of between 60-95% in the need for bronchodilator medication. One of the studies** looked at learning the Buteyko Method from a home video. The results showed that those using the video were able to reduce their use of reliever inhalers by over 60% in 4 weeks.
The self help asthma pack of DVD, CD and handbook contains everything you will need to see a significant and lasting reduction in your asthma symptoms. Also highly recommended for bronchitis, emphysema, COPD and allergies.
