How to buy VAT free

 

If you live in the UK or any country within the EU and are buying certain zero-rated products or their dedicated accessories for personal use to treat a long-term medical condition you are entitled to claim exemption from VAT.

Many AllergyBestBuys customers qualify for VAT exemption by nature of their asthma, eczema and allergies. If you are in any doubt as to whether you are eligible to receive goods or services zero-rated for VAT you should consult Notice 701/7 VAT reliefs for disabled people here or contact HMRC’s National Advice Service on 0845 010 9000.

To claim relief from VAT you must complete and submit a VAT self-declaration exemption request form when you place your order. You do not need your GP's signature and you may buy for someone else who is unable to do so for themselves.

We must have your declaration form at the time we process your order as VAT exemption cannot be granted retrospectively.

HMRC will accept an electronic document. Alternatively your declaration can be filled out in paper form then either posted, sent by fax or scanned and e-mailed.
